IDEA (THEME)

The belief it’s Abhiprerna Foundation holds that for Persons with Disabilities such as Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and Multiple disabilities, there is no medical cure–but many things are possible through training opportunities and community support.






AIMS

·        Improving the child’s and family’s quality of life.
·        Arranging referral services for the children wherever required.

To empower and enable people with disabilities to become economically contributing and participating members of society, Empower people with disabilities by developing different strategies to improve their skills and eventually their earning capacity to make a decent living.




OBJECTIVES

The objective of Abhiprerna Rehabilitation Centre, is to provide the children suffering from mental and multiple disabilities a place and atmosphere where they could overcome their disabilities through love, care and proper guidance. Imaginative and creative activities such as dance, music, painting, story telling, etc. are used to strengthen their mental faculties.
  • To diagnose their physical disabilities through different tests and to provide remedial measures through various therapies and medical treatments.
  • To train the parents about the special needs and therapist of their children.
  • To train these children through games and sports activities for special and mainstream school.
  • To educated these children through ‘do and learn’ methods in the fields of language, mathematics and social behaviours.
  • To enable these children not only to meet the needs of their everyday live, but also to understand and enjoy their surroundings.
  • To give their all the facilities provided for than by the Government.
  • To take then finally on the part of becoming an independent and able individual. 
  

REHABILITATION CENTRE .............Children with Special Needs!

Abhiprerna Rehabilitation Centre, run by Abhiprerna Foundation was set up on 3rd December, 2009 on the World Disabled Days. It caters to the needs of the children in the age group of 4 to 14 years who suffer from mental and multi disabilities.
Mental Retardation
The cognitive area of the brain is affected, leading to slow learning and responses. The child will take a long time to understand and may need to be explained in simple terms, one thing at a time.
Autism
This affects the social and emotional areas of the brain leading to challenges in communication, social relationships and imagination.
Cerebral Palasy
Traditionally described as “an intelligent mind caught in a disobedient body”, it is typified by motor dysfunction. Gross motor (sitting, standing, walking) fine motor (writing, sewing, painting etc.) and speech is generally affected.
Multiple Disabilities
Persons with Disabilities like deaf blind, Cerebral Palasy with Mental Retardation, or Mental Retardation with Visual Impairment.

ORGANIZATION

Abhiprerna Foundation, established in 2007 by Dr. Deepesh Chandra Prasad, is a registered organization deducted to economic empowerment of women and uplift of the weaker sections of society.
We strive to make Uttarakhand, India, and the entire world a more inclusive place for all people regardless of ability, age, race, creed, or socio–economic background. Aware of the power of the individual, we believe that each one of us should have a voice in our community, access to what we need, and respect from those around us. Our projects throughout Haridwar work to make these goals possible by empowering people with disabilities through education, awareness campaigns, community training and play. As we work for the most vulnerable in our neighborhoods we know that we will make the world better for all of us.
